TURTLE FOSSIL - MANCHUROCHELYS LIAOXIENSIS WAS A REPTILE DURING THE CRETACEOUS PERIOD (140-110 MYA). THIS TURTLE IS FROM THE JIANSHANGOU FOSSIL BEDS, LIAONING YIXIAN FORMATION, LIANONING PROVINCE IN NORTHEAST CHINA. THESE PRIMITIVE TURTLES HAVE A LOW DOMED CARAPACE (SHELL) AND COULD NOT DRAW THEIR HEADS OR LEGS INTO THEIR SHELLS, LIKE THE MODERN TURTLES CAN. THE TURTLE ITSELF MEASURES 10+ " FROM HEAD TO TAIL AND 8" WIDE. THE SPECIMEN SIZE IS:10 1/2 X 11 INCHES AND WEIGHS 2.90 POUNDS. HAS A GREAT SHELL AND APPENDAGES! REALLY A VERY NICE SPECIMEN!
